Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Pour the apple pie filling into the bottom of the dish.
Sprinkle cinnamon evenly over the apple filling.
Evenly distribute the dry yellow cake mix over the apples.
Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.
Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top if using.
Bake for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Remove from oven and let cool for a few minutes.
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
