Ingredients

  • 2 large apples peeled and cored
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce for drizzling
  • Optional: vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture.
  • Pour in the milk and stir until a dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Cut the dough into squares large enough to wrap around each apple.
  • Place an apple in the center of each square and wrap the dough around it.
  • Pinch seams to seal and place dumplings in a greased baking dish.
  • Drizzle with caramel sauce and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
