In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
Add the melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well.
Stir in the baking soda and salt.
Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
Gradually fold in the all-purpose flour until just incorporated.
Gently mix in the chopped nuts of your choice.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the top.
Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
