Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 egg
  • Sesame seeds for topping

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add the yeast mixture, milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
  • Shape each piece into a ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Cover the shaped buns and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Brush the tops of the buns with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
