Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 2 cups mixed greens spinach, lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles
  • 1/2 red onion sliced
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Your favorite burger sauces ketchup, mustard, mayo

Instructions

  • Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium heat.
  • In a bowl, mix ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Form the beef mixture into four equal patties.
  • Grill the patties for about 5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your liking.
  • During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
  • While patties are cooking, prepare the bowls with mixed greens at the base.
  • Add halved cherry tomatoes and sliced pickles on top of the greens.
  • Once cooked, place each patty directly on the salad base.
  • Top with sliced red onion and your choice of sauces.
  • Serve immediately and enjoy your burger bowls!
