Ingredients

  • 1 medium head of cabbage
  • 2 carrots diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 pound ground meat beef, turkey, or chicken
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs parsley, cilantro for garnish
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in diced carrots and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Add ground meat; cook until browned, breaking it apart.
  • Mix in the diced tomatoes and season with salt and pepper.
  • Chop the cabbage into thin strips and add to the pan.
  • Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Adjust seasoning and add red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
  • Garnish with fresh herbs before plating.
