Ingredients

  • 3 ripe tomatoes sliced
  • 200 g fresh mozzarella sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar optional
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Gather all ingredients: tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and seasonings.
  • Rinse the tomatoes and basil leaves under cold water.
  • Slice the tomatoes into thick rounds.
  • Slice the fresh mozzarella into similar thickness as the tomatoes.
  • On a serving platter, alternate layers of tomato and mozzarella slices.
  • Tuck fresh basil leaves between layers of tomato and mozzarella.
  • Drizzle extra virgin olive oil generously over the salad.
