Ingredients

  • 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Olive oil for frying
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Flatten the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet.
  • In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and place it in a baking dish.
  • Pour marinara sauce over each chicken breast.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top.
  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
