Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups water room temperature
  • 1 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, and salt.
  • Add the water gradually and mix until a sticky dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
  • Sprinkle flour on a work surface and turn the dough out gently.
  • Using floured hands, stretch the dough into a rectangle.
  • Fold the dough into thirds, like a letter, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) with a baking stone inside.
  • Shape the dough into a loaf and place it on a floured board.
  • Let it rise for another 30 minutes while the oven heats.
  • Transfer the loaf onto the baking stone and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
