Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar for glaze
  • 3-4 tbsp milk for glaze

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  • Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla to the yeast mixture; stir until combined.
  • Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick.
  • Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 pieces.
  • Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
