Measure 1 cup of coarsely ground coffee.
Combine the coffee grounds with 4 cups of cold water in a large jar.
Stir gently to saturate all coffee grounds.
Cover and let steep for 12 to 24 hours.
Strain the mixture using a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter.
Discard the coffee grounds.
Dilute the cold brew concentrate with water or milk as desired.
Serve over ice.
Sweeten with sugar or flavored syrups if preferred.
