Add sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt to the mixture.
Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
Add milk gradually to achieve desired pancake batter consistency.
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil.
Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes.
Flip the pancakes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Remove from skillet and keep warm in an oven on low heat.
Repeat with remaining batter, adding more butter or oil as needed.
