Peel and cut the potatoes into even chunks.

Drain the potatoes and let them sit for a few minutes.
Return the potatoes to the pot and add butter.
Mash the potatoes until smooth.
Gradually mix in heavy cream until desired consistency is reached.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
