Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using.
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden.
Allow cookies to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
