Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk for glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar for glaze

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk.
  • Mix until just combined and pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan.
  • Bake for 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Prepare the glaze by whisking together the milk and powdered sugar.
  • Let the cake cool for 10 minutes before inverting onto a serving plate and drizzling with the glaze.
