Mix the melted butter with the kunafa pastry until well coated.
Spread half of the buttered kunafa at the bottom of a baking dish.
Layer the cheese evenly over the kunafa base.
Cover the cheese with the remaining kunafa strands.
Press down gently to ensure even cooking.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Prepare the syrup by boiling sugar and water together; add rose water once dissolved.
Once baked, pour the syrup over the hot kunafa and garnish with chopped pistachios.
