Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Stir in the orange juice and zest until fully incorporated.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, smoothing the top with a spatula.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with orange slices.
