Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ cups warm water 110°F
  • 3 ½ to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Cooking spray or extra flour for dusting

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture.
  • Gradually add flour, 1 cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for 1 hour.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two equal portions.
  • Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Transfer to a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Add your favorite sauce and toppings, then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
