Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups warm water about 110°F
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 packet 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add olive oil and salt to the mixture.
  • Gradually add flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
  • Once doubled in size, punch down the dough to release air bubbles.
  • Divide the dough into two equal portions for large pizzas.
  • Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Transfer the rolled dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Add your favorite toppings and bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 10-15 minutes.
