In another bowl, combine milk, melted butter, and eggs.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.
If using, fold in chopped herbs and grated cheese.
Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan.
Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan and slicing.
