Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Avocado slices for serving
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  • Place the seasoned chicken in the skillet and sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
  • Pour the salsa evenly over the chicken breasts.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top of the salsa.
  • Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
  • Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with avocado slices and lime wedges.
