Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes diced
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 jalapeño pepper seeded and minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder optional

Instructions

  • Wash and chop the tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Finely chop the onion and jalapeño pepper.
  • Rinse the cilantro and chop it roughly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño.
  • Add the chopped cilantro to the bowl.
  • Squeeze the juice of one lime over the mixture.
  • Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
  • If using, add garlic powder for extra flavor.
  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, then serve immediately or refrigerate for later use.
