Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 carrots diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onions and carrots, cooking until softened.
  • Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Add ground meat, breaking it apart and browning evenly.
  • Mix in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth.
  • Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Stir in the peas and season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish evenly.
  • Top with mashed potatoes, smoothing them over the meat.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
