Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  • Add vanilla extract and eggs, mixing well after each addition.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
  • Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer to wire racks to cool completely before serving.
