Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sourdough starter active
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup bell peppers sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sourdough starter and warm water.
  • Add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover it.
  • Let the dough rise for 1-2 hours at room temperature.
  • Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Once risen, divide the dough into two equal portions.
  • Roll out each portion on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  • Transfer the dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly on the base, then add cheese and toppings.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, and slice to serve.
