Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
Place the chicken breast-side down on a cutting board.
Using kitchen shears, cut along both sides of the backbone to remove it.
Flip the chicken over and press down on the breastbone to flatten it.
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
Rub olive oil all over the chicken, ensuring it's well-coated.
Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
Squeeze lemon juice over the chicken and place the halves inside the cavity.
Place the chicken on a baking sheet or roasting pan.
Roast in the oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the skin is golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
