Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour a 9x13 inch cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices.
  • In another bowl, whisk together sugar and oil until well blended.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and buttermilk until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
