Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In another bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  • Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
