Ingredients

  • 1 box of vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup strawberry puree
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 package 3 oz strawberry gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs.
  • Beat with an electric mixer for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
  • Poke holes all over the cake using the end of a wooden spoon.
  • In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water.
  • Stir in cold water and then pour over the cake, filling the holes.
  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to set.
  • Top with whipped cream and fresh strawberries before serving.
