Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove the green tops.
  • Slice the strawberries and place them in a bowl.
  • Sprinkle the sugar over the strawberries and mix gently.
  • Let the strawberries sit for about 10 minutes to release their juices.
  • In a saucepan, combine water and a pinch of salt, then bring to a boil.
  • Remove from heat and add the strawberries and their juices to the saucepan.
  • Stir in the lemon juice for extra flavor.
  • Use a blender to puree the mixture until smooth.
  • Pour the puree into a shallow dish and cover it with plastic wrap.
  • Freeze the mixture for about 4 hours, stirring every hour to break up ice crystals.
