Ingredients

  • 1 gallon apple cider
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 cup brandy optional
  • Fresh apple slices for garnish

Instructions

  • In a large pot, combine the apple cider, orange slices, and lemon slices.
  • Add brown sugar to the mixture and stir until dissolved.
  • Stir in the cinnamon sticks, ground ginger, ground cloves, and allspice.
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  • Reduce heat and let it simmer for 30 minutes.
  • If using, stir in the brandy just before serving.
  • Strain the mixture to remove fruit slices and spices if desired.
  • Serve hot in mugs, garnished with fresh apple slices.
  • Keep warm on low heat if serving at a party.
